General Bipin Rawat’s declaration is proof that women can make the armed forces better.

&lt;p id='p_1'&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class='KRQuhe'&gt;The United States, in 2016, opened its doors to women to join the armed forces, including the elite Navy SEALs. In India, things have taken a slower course, but an important one all the same. Sometime next month, the Indian Air Force will be commissioning our first female fighter pilots. Last year, the Indian Navy opened itself for permanent commissioning of women and within the next couple of years, women being onboard naval vessels will be a reality. And now, women being inducted into the combat arms of the Indian Army, perhaps even the Special Forces, proves that they can make the armed forces better.&lt;/p&gt;
