My Twitter followers had an issue with my interview with Akhilesh Yadav and family

So my nutter friends on Twitter had a problem with my interviewing Akhilesh Yadav’s family and kids: too soft, PR, they shrieked!

The same folks chose to ignore the interview I did with Akhilesh on the campaign trail where we asked him every possible question from law and order to family corruption to opportunistic alliances.

Surely folks, there is also space to find the human side of a politician, to have a “soft” interview with his kids. Fact is: a politician will be asked the questions that he needs to be held accountable to in public life. And that's what one did.

To his credit, unlike other netas, Akhilesh didn't walk out or seek a scripted interview. As far as the children are concerned, I have always felt that occasionally TV should capture the human side of netas too: surely you don't expect me to ask his kids on law and order and corruption.

The problem is that too many people on social media are simply on it to outrage and pursue private agendas.
