Why Justin Trudeau's gesture for refugees is breaking the internet

Whilst western powers look for ways to ensure their economies are not burdened by refugees from Syria, Canada is welcoming thousands of displaced natives in a special way. Led by prime minister Justin Trudeau, Canadians greeted immigrants from Syria with smiles and welcome bags as they arrived in Toronto on December 11. Soon after they had landed, the Canadian prime minster received them saying, "You're home."

A day earlier, the prime minister had announced the arrival of the first plane carrying refugees from Syria on Twitter, and shared a video on how Canadian citizens could welcome the immigrants:

Canada's moving gesture showed the world how different things can be for refugees and made Trudeau an example for world leaders to follow:

The country has pledged to receive 10,000 Syrian immigrants this year.
