People throw bulbs on Salman Khan's Tubelight on Twitter

Kabir Khan’s Tubelight is yet another example of how much the director loves to work with Bhai. The movie that is set in the backdrop of the 1962 India-China war features Salman Khan as a simpleton with a heart of gold.

The film, of course, has nothing original to offer. In fact, it is based on the 2015 American war drama Little Boy, which was incidentally panned by critics. But knowing the Indian audience, this Salman Khan movie, like all Salman Khan movies, will make more money than the combined GDP of a few African countries.

Here’s how the social media reacted to the film’s first day:

There were the usual Bollywood pats on the back.

But what happened to Taran Adarsh? No Rs 1,000 crore predictions?

And others concur.

Twitter had a blast making those oh-so-expected "light" jokes.

But no one says it better than Salman Bhai!

Now that's wisdom worth a thousand-watt, er, tubelight?
