Woman believes pet cat saved her life. 5 times Super Cats saved their pawparents

We have all heard stories of heroic pets saving their humans. It's quite endearing for sure. But most of the time, dogs take home the title of hero, and cats are tagged as the jerks of the pet world. But in this case, a cat has become a hero for 'saving' its human's life.

This woman from UK believes that her pet cat, Billy Bob, saved her life when she was going into a cardiac arrest.

Sam Felstead recounted how Billy jumped on her chest and started meowing, waking her up from her sleep. Felstead says when she woke up; she couldn't move the right side of her body and was sweating profusely. Her mother soon came into the room and called an ambulance.

The doctors later told Felstead that she reached just in time. Sam Felstead thinks that she would have died in her sleep from a heart attack if Billy hadn't woken her up in time.

"He (Billy) doesn't normally sit with me but he knew something was wrong because he wouldn't leave me alone. I do think he saved my life and so does everybody else around me," the BBC quoted Sam Felstead.

He (Billy) doesn't normally sit with me but he knew something was wrong because he wouldn't leave me alone. I do think he saved my life and so does everybody else around me.

According to Felstead, Billy doesn't usually sit with her and is by her mother's side more. But this time around, he jumped on her when she was in distress and she knew that something was wrong. Now, Billy, the cat is back to being himself. Felstead says he hasn't paid her much attention after coming back from the hospital and remains nonchalant.

Cats will be cats.

But Billy is not the only pet cat to have saved its human.

1. Black cat saves life

Be it in India or in the UK, black cats are considered bad luck. But an 83-year-old woman's black cat, Piran, turned out to be very lucky. A woman in the UK had taken a 70-feet steep fall down a ravine back in 2021. At the time, a black cat started meowing relentlessly near the field, making neighbours with a rescue crew nearby search for the feline.

They stumbled across the 83-year-old woman following the cat's meows, and were able to rescue her. Without the cat's persistent meowing, neighbours say they wouldn't have found the woman for a long time. The woman survived the fall, thanks to her black cat.

2. Black cat leads boy to woman in distress

This is yet another story of how a black cat turned saviour. Earlier this year in Canada, a teenager's love for cats led him to a 93-year-old woman who had fallen and broken her pelvis. Noah Smith was inside his home when he spotted a black cat outside. He ventured out to try and pet the cat. While following the cat, the teen heard the cries of a woman and followed the voice to find the 93-year-old lying on the ice cold ground for nearly 30 minutes.

He then called his brother and others for help.

While this black cat may have been a stray, it still turned out lucky for the woman. Is anyone adopting black cats now?

3. Black cat opens the door for locked-out human

In a funny turn of events, a woman got locked out of her room and had to enlist the help of her roommate's cat to get the door open. The woman kept tapping near the doorknob to get the cat's attention and tried to twist the door knob, so the cat would hold on to and release the latch.

Do you think such a feat is possible? Well, luckily for this woman, the idea worked. The cat was able to open the door.

4. Cat turns diagnostic

Okay, we got carried away with the black cat heroes there. But the colour of a cat's coat has nothing to do with them being heroes. In another case from the UK, a cat named Missy started pawing at her human's chest incessantly. Missy was apparently so persistent in her pawing at the woman's chest that she got it checked out and found out that she had pre-cancerous cells.

She says her story would have been very different if it wasn't for Missy.

5. The protector cat

In 2014, a pet cat in California, Tara, saved a 4-year-old boy when he was being attacked by a neighbour's dog. The boy was attacked by a dog while playing with his bike, and that's when Tara shot out and jumped on the cat, scaring it away.

What do you think of these super cats?
