Azhar teaser: Can Emraan Hashmi do justice to a misunderstood hero?

After the first look of Azhar, the biopic on former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin was revealed on May 20, the film team has now released the teaser of the same on IPL Extra Innings. The film stars Emraan Hashmi as Mohammad Azharuddin, and it will hit the theatres on May 13, 2016.

The biopic touches upon the former Indian skipper's life and career, and will supposedly portray the ups and downs of his life. While Prachi Desai would be essaying the role of the cricketer's first wife in the film, Nargis Fakhri was supposed to play Sangeeta Bijlani, Azhar's second wife, or so the grapevine had suggested.

However, at the first look launch of the film in Mumbai on May 21, Ekta Kapoor cleared the air about the same. She said that Nargis may not be a part of the film. Azhar is being helmed by Anthony D'Souza, whose last film was the Akshay Kumar-starrer Boss.
