5 ways Baahubali 2 could end

A humongous 120-feet statue of the menacing villain Bhallaladeva is raised in Mahishmati.

Amid all the grand moments, the cinematographer cuts to the hordes of slaves who are seen pulling the statue. An old man crumbles to the ground, followed by the collapse of an entire row of people, which in turn leads to the fall of the statue. When they're about to give in, a masked man comes to their rescue and drags the statue.

As clichéd as it sounds, Shivudu destroys Bhallaladeva in the battle of Mahishmati as a retribution for the death of Amendra Baahubali.

While the old man takes charge again, the mask is off. His face is exposed. And like the people in Mahishmati, we tend to chant out loud, "Baahubali". This is the scene where director SS Rajamouli unleashes his iconic hero Baahubali.

Though it has been a year since the release of Baahubali: The Beginning, the hysteria doesn't seem to simmer down and the obvious question that has been bothering all of us for a year now, is "Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?"

Reports say that the unit is rigorously shooting for the climax of the epic sequel, which is slated to release on April 28, 2017.

Now that the film has its release date locked, what could possibly be the conclusion of SS Rajamouli's epic fantasy film Baahubali?

Shivudu kills Kattappa:

In the first part, it was evident that the characterisation of Kattappa, the royal slave and warrior is akin to the iconic Bhishma from the Mahabharata. Going by the ill fate of Bhishma in the battle of Kurukshetra, Kattappa is likely to die in the hands of Shivudu on the battlefield, where Bhallaladeva and Shivudu lock horns for redemption.

Despite the fact that Kattappa reveals himself as the sinner who killed Amendra Baahubali and that he solicits forgiveness, Kattappa's loyalty to Bhallaladeva was apparent in the scene where Bhallaladeva himself says, "After all that happened, I'm still appalled by your loyalty."

Shivudu and Kattappa seek the allegiance of Aslam Khan:

As Baahubali is reminiscent of the television hit fantasy drama Game Of Thrones, Shivudu is the new Jon Snow. Going by the latest season of GOT, Jon Snow, who resurrects, raises an army to claim his rightful throne at Winterfell. He seeks the help of the wildlings led by Mance Rayder, guards of the Castle Black and knights of the Vale to defeat the psychopathic Ramsay Bolton.

Similarly, in the sequel, Shivudu already has his own tribal army. He has the support of the rebellious warrior group led by Avanthika. Shivudu and Kattappa are likely to seek the aid of Aslam Khan -the weapon supplier, who assures Kattappa of allegiance, if need be. If this is to transpire, Kattappa's wrongdoings are to be pardoned by Shivudu.

Shivudu dies in the battle of Mahishmati:

The character Bhallaladeva is synonymous with being fearsome. Rana Daggubati as Bhallaladeva smashes a bison-like animal with his bare arms in his introductory scene. While this may look utterly superficial, the beefy body of Rana with some formidable biceps make it believable.

If Rajamouli were to break the stereotypical happy ending syndrome, Shivudu will be killed by the mighty Bhallaladeva; after all, he is akin to Bhima - the strongest and the most ferocious character from the Mahabharata, who is touted to possess the strength of 10,000 elephants. Another common streak between Bhima and Bhallaladeva is that they possess the same weapon - gada.

Will Kattappa kill Shivudu?

Yes. It does sound tacky. But going by what Rajamouli revealed in an interview, the third instalment of Baahubali is very much on cards. He also revealed that either of the lead actors will be a part of it and confirmed that it's a spin-off of Baahubali. So now, is there a possibility in the sequel where Rajamouli is expected to leave the audience awestruck just like the climax of its predecessor?

Will Kattappa's fidelity consume the warrior? Considering the song in which Shivudu had a lovemaking sequence with Avanthika, will there be a story for Shivudu Jr in Baahubali 3?

Shivudu defeats Bhallaladeva:

Bhallaladeva is the mightiest of all. Agreed. But Shivudu is no less. We saw his sturdiness when he carried a gigantic statue as if it were a cushion. He had the audience in the pre-climax portion when he saved the lives of hundreds of slaves, and the half-raised statue of Bhallaladeva started falling.

These little instances are testimony to the fact that Shivudu has inherited his father's mettle and some enviable biceps.

As clichéd as it sounds, Shivudu destroys Bhallaladeva in the battle of Mahishmati as retribution for Amendra Baahubali's fate.
