What Bollywood taught me today: Don ko pakadna easy hai

Arjun Rampal (who won the National Award for his role in Rock On but is still at best regarded a one-note actor) is playing don Arun Gawli in his next film Daddy. For research, the actor visited Gawli at Mumbai's JJ Hospital last December. The actor lives in Bandra, which is half-a-lifetime in traffic away from JJ Hospital. Gawli is serving a life sentence and was in judicial custody when he was brought to the hospital for a routine check-up. Rampal had not acquired the requisite permissions to meet the don but it looks like he took a leaf out of Eklavya's book and showed the law the thumb. An internal inquiry has also been ordered against the policemen who had accompanied Gawli to the hospital, and we hope this includes checking their phones for selfies taken with Rampal. The JJ Marg police station has finally got wind of the don and the actor's tete a tete after more than a month and has promptly summoned the actor for questioning.

Now I don't know what's more shocking. The fact that Arjun Rampal does research for his roles or the fact that Arjun Rampal does research for his roles.
