Barely a month ago, had BJP chief Amit Shah, in a moment of accidental clarity, referred to Karnataka’s newly ascended CM, BS Yeddyurappa, as the “most corrupt”. He said, “Recently a retired Supreme Court judge said if there was ever a competition of the most corrupt government then the Yeddyurappa government is number one..." It was a gaffe on Shah’s part; but there is a grain (or many grains) of truth in there.
In fact, going by BJP’s staunch anti-corruption narrative, Yeddyurappa sticks out like sore thumb, in the otherwise unblemished image the party tries to portray itself in. Why, one would ask? Well, for starters, the man’s career is littered with corruption charges here and there.
