It's that time of the year again. As hordes of recent school passouts flock to Delhi University's campuses in the hope of getting into their desired college, dreams fly high.
St Stephen's, SRCC, Hansraj and Hindu are the dream institutions of every second high-schooler who wishes to study in DU. And like every year, countless dreams will be shattered because not everyone can afford getting admission into this prestigious central university.
Now, don't get us wrong, it's not the fee that is unaffordable, but the marks. Not everyone (which includes almost everyone) can get through the everest-high cut-offs released by the university every year.
Is the Delhi University cut-off list a way to really cut everyone off? |
This year too, as expected, DU has surpassed itself with Ramjas College setting a cut-off of 99.25 per cent for B.Com (H) for the General category.
Now that needs a collective venting of abused emotions and insults to our soon-to-be-collegegoers' intelligence. All hail social media, with Twitterverse dutifully erupting with rib-tickling reactions to the first DU cut-off list:
@Abhinav9747 Ur body temp even less than pass % i.e. less than 40%.. :PPlease don't come close to DU..
