Happy birthday, Aishwarya Rai! (Pity no one cares about your movies anymore)

Whether Aishwarya Rai is a manglik is apparently the question that haunts us!

In 2014, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan topped the list of the 20 most-searched Indian women on Google.

Well, that was 2014. (The list also included Sonia Gandhi, Vidya Balan, etc.)

A lot has changed since then. And it seems that people are not quite interested in Aishwarya Rai’s Bollywood career anymore.

No, we are not jumping to this conclusion by the box-office performance of her latest film Fanney Khan, but by the hilarious things people search about the 45-year-old actress on Google today.

On the dais of the Miss World 1994 contest, Aishwarya was asked what qualities Miss World 1994 should embody. It’s believed that her answer, in which she pitched for a compassionate person, brought her the crown.

That was long before we started solving all mysteries through Google.

And now, here are the things we want to know about Aishwarya.

Wow! What bothers people so much! (Screenshot)

Is this why people are asking all those weird 'Bong' questions about Aishwarya on Google? (Photo: Social media)

Well! No, Aishwarya is not a Bengali, though she has acted in a Bengali movie, Chokher Bali (2003). She has also essayed the character of a Bengali girl in Devdas (2002), but then all primary characters of that movie, based on a Bengali novel, are Bengalis. (Go figure!)

So, we clearly fail to understand why people would even ask this. Hasn't she acted in many other regional films as well?

Also, Quora has a detailed discussion going on about Aishwarya's caste.

Moving on, yes, she is a south Indian (Kannada) and, of course, Miss World.

The manglik thing, it seems, can’t be erased from public memory though, unlike her best Bollywood performances.

And it's not for no reason.

During the Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding in 2007, it was widely rumoured that because of her purported 'manglik dosha', Aishwarya was first married off to a tree.

However, the Bachchan family didn’t ever accept that.

Of late, Abhishek even made fun of the 'tree story' on Twitter.

People are also curious to know whether Aishwarya is on Twitter (No).

Well, you can go and search Twitter to find the answer — why ask Google?

Does Aishwarya Rai have siblings? Yes. Aditya Rai.

Does Aishwarya Rai eat non-veg? None of your business. But, yes, maybe.

Does Aishwarya Rai have a son?

This is a different story altogether. Not a 'yes/no' answer

Early this year, Sangeeth Kumar, a 29-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, claimed to be Aishwarya Rai’s son, born in the US through IVF. If his claims are to be believed, Aishwarya probably gave birth to him while she was 15 years old. No one believed these claims, but we know that quite a few people are stuck on that issue.

Who knows why?

Here are other Aishwarya things that no one is apparently too bothered about:

Like, she was the first Indian celebrity to appear on Oprah Winfrey's show and there she taught Oprah how to wear a saree.

She was also the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya will be seen together in Anurag Kashyap's movie Gulab Jamun after a long time.

But then, who actually asked about that?
