Before 2020, who would have thought that Delhi's Kovid Kapoor will be making headlines and have us all talking about him. I mean... it was just another name, right? But, guess what, not any more!
FIRST, WHO IS KOVID KAPOOR?
Holidify co-founder Kovid Kapoor founded the travel company in 2014. You know, back when no one had any idea about Covid the disease.
This is how Kovid Kapoor introduces himself on LinkedIn: "I have a keen interest in building beautiful consumer-facing products, which work flawlessly, and we're dedicated to making Holidify a global leader in travel planning.
"I love technical challenges, and figuring out how to create a scalable product with a small, high-class tech team. Over the years, I have gained experience in a wide variety of skills - from product management to web development to machine learning to analytical problem solving."
Well, that was all fine in the pre-Covid era, but now, the pandemic has changed everything. Quite understandably, no one is feeling the impact of it like Kovid Kapoor, who funnily even runs a 'travel' company. Well, yes, you got it right — Kovid Travels!
WHAT HAPPENED WHEN KOVID KAPOOR WENT ABROAD IN THE COVID ERA
The entrepreneur shared his recent experience on a holiday abroad that left many 'amused'. The viral thread, with over 3,560 retweets and 36,000 likes, had netizens going LOL.
Kapoor started off by saying that he "went outside India for the first time since Covid and got a bunch of people amused by my name". "Future foreign trips are going to be fun!" he added.

BUT, BUT, BUT... WHAT DOES KOVID MEAN?
As the tweet went viral, Kovid felt the need to clarify the meaning of his name and tweeted, "For those on this thread, wondering what my name actually means - it means scholar / learned." The 'd' at the end of Kovid is pronounced a soft 'd', and not a hard 'd' like in his microscopic namesake.
For those on this thread, wondering what my name actually means - it means scholar / learned.Comes in the Hanumaan Chaleesa. Also, it's pronounced as कोविद not कोविड ?

I'm quite used to really enunciate my name, stressing that it's a soft D and not a hard D. And to quickly whip out my PAN card from my wallet, just to prove that it REALLY is my name. ?

AND CORONA JOKES AND MEMES FOLLOWED
This obviously didn't stop here as amused netizens started replying to the thread with hilarious memes and comments. Later, the entrepreneur shared more such funny experiences from the past in a separate thread.
So! Since the last thread got sooo viral - and I feel like a mini-celeb now - thought I'll share a bunch of funny names related incidents.

Happy Birthday #COVID-30...
For my 30th bday, my friends ordered a cake - and Amintiri automatically assumed that it's some kinda joke, and it should be spelled with a C not a K. ? pic.twitter.com/3jrySteSbC

'Kovid positive since 1990'
In one such tweet, Kapoor also responded to a user who asked him 'what happened when he took the vaccine' calling himself 'too late' as he was 'Kovid positive since 1990.'
Hahaha I took it but it was too late, I was already Kovid positive since 1990 ?

Lloyd Mathias sarcastically reacted to the tweet asking Kovid to 'stay positive'.
