Salman Khan is only guilty of being human, please

Hang on, now this is getting really confusing.

A Jodhpur court has finally acquitted actor Salman Khan of all charges in a case where the actor was booked under the Arms Act for carrying, sorry not carrying, fire arms with expired licence during his infamous hunting spree 19 years ago.

But why?

Was he not acquitted of poaching the blackbucks last year? Or were those chinkaras? But is it not common sense that when there was no killing of chinkaras or the damned blackbucks, where does the question of carrying or not carrying arms arise? It's not Salman's fault, it's the court and those Bishnois who have been confusing us — the number of verdicts, stays, appeals and rulings in connection with these cases are now too much for us to keep a track of.

There were three cases filed against Salman in October 1998 — two separate cases for alleged poaching of chinkaras and blackbucks filed under the Wildlife Protection Act; and the the third for carrying fire arms with expired licence during the hunting trip. It was this case under the Arms Act which was being heard by the Jodhpur court today.

While nobody should grudge either Salman or the court, we wonder what was the need to keep us in suspense for 19 years when the actor wasn't carrying any arms except his naturally chiseled arm muscles.

And why is anybody surprised? Do we not know that no one can touch Salman Khan (remember 2002 hit-and-run)? The famed actor was acquitted in 2015. We must also remember how all his fans and those "rich and famous friends" rallied behind the actor when a grudging media made a huge fuss over his acquittal.

As if the vicious media wasn't enough, Twitter users too have joined the Bhai-bashing bandwagon. Here's how they reacted after the latest verdict.
