Shastri Bhawan: The fault is in your stars

Dinanath Batra should help Prime Minister Narendra Modi out on this one. Or he should at least help out Modi’s HRD minister Smriti Irani. The ancient sutras and the scrolls should be able to divine out what ails Shastri Bhawan. Surely, there must be some puja to be done as parihara?

Shiva, shiva, how else can one understand the infamy of both the cabinet minister and her more learned minister of state landing in trouble with their education. One claimed different degrees in different affidavits and the other is said to have doctored marksheets to bump up his marks. The vaastu guys must be called for the offices, and the jyotishacharyas should be summoned to check the mool nakshatras of Smriti Irani and Prof Ram Shankar Katheria. These are hard times ever since Saturn moved from Thula rashi into Vrischika for a good three years, the first 36 of the 60 months Modiji had sought and got from the people of India. The first 60 where he will be the chowkidaar for guiding the destiny of this country.

A few months after May 26 when he had assumed office, the government has reversed its whole campaign locomotive on the retrieval of black money and several other high-rhetoric issues in the campaign. There are memes doing the rounds of people asking if the government will redistribute black money by cash or cheque but all’s quiet in North Block. Hushed whispers on news TV say double-taxation avoidance treaties are being spoken of. The campaign vilified the previous regime for policy paralysis and just the other day, finance minister Arun Jaitley said the turnaround to recovery will take time and not be as fast as his prime minister’s rat-a-tat ricochets of rhetoric. He also advised the CAG not to sensationalise audit findings, some months ago CAG revelations were ammunition to punch the Congress flat and not wait for the countdown. Now, the CAG is being explained the importance of keeping a low profile.

The stars and planets must be wondering what on earth is going wrong. The appointment of Katheria, a PhD holder, as MoS HRD was to balance the relative featherweight of Smriti Irani but that seems to have landed in a celestial mess. Shiva, shiva, get that astrologer in double quick!
