The word ‘summer’ reminds everyone of certain flavours like the tanginess of raw mangoes, warty-sweet melons, nimbu paani, obviously, and so on. While the scorching heat takes a toll on our energy levels, refreshing foods and drinks come to our rescue.
Summer also means a break from heavy meals and greasy food.
So, Home, PVR’s Luxury Lounge at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj in Delhi, has launched a summer menu which has just what you need to tackle the Delhi heat.
The summer menu offers you refreshing treats made with farm-fresh and organic ingredients, perfectly blended with Indian flavours.
Let’s also tell you what to eat and drink when you pay these folks a visit.
What to eat
Conceptualised by a team of three culinary maestros, Chef Mayank Tiwari, Chef Harpal Singh and Chef Yutaka Saito, the complete summer menu at HOME is a delight you cannot afford to miss.
For starters, we tried their Avocado and Green Mango Tartare topped with a Green Mango Sorbet. It is the much needed refreshing delight you need before diving into the main course.
The raw mango sorbet with a creamy avocado base, topped with some freshly chopped vegetables; this tartare is a must.
Next was their Plantain Shami Kebab Taco. The tamarind sauce at the base of the taco and the freshly chopped raw mangoes are both a welcome burst of tanginess.
Among the appetisers, we also tried and loved the Truffle Mushroom Pate with a Parmesan Cheeseling and an apricot house pickle.
Stop drooling, and look at the main course.
In the main course, the summer menu offers many delicacies. We tried the Saffron and Lotus Mantis and it was delightful. The tomato butter base is the star of the dish.
Here are the other options in the main course:
Make room for dessert!
If you love the dark intense taste of chocolate, then the summer menu offers a perfect dessert to satisfy those cravings, with a combination of dark chocolate, hazelnut and dates.
The menu also has an Apple Bebinca paired with coconut and almond Milk Gelato.
The drinks menu at Home is also to write home about. We tried the 'Not That Colada'. It will remind you of the Colada that you might have had during your last Goa trip, but this is 'Not That Colada.' It is a virgin Colada that comes with a most memorable taste.
Bonus points:
The setting and the seating at Home, with bookshelves, and the comfortable dining area, will give you the most Instagrammable pictures.
