Desi mothers are known for their quirky ways of scolding (and loving) their children. While some moms like to passively-agressively taunt their children, others love to keep it direct. But no matter how they do it, there is no one more lovable than a desi mom and there is nothing we love more than their ultra-creative taunts.

As the Mother's Day is approaching on May 8, these are some important reminders your mother wants to give you:

1. FILL THE WATER BOTTLES

Global warming is making us all sweat like never before. So please, on behalf of all desi mums, fill those water bottles and put them in the fridge.

2. HANG OUT WITH US ALSO

'Monday to Friday, you're working at the office. Atleast spend some time with us on the weekends, no?' is a dialogue that every single adult has heard from their desi mom, especially when you're living with them.

This Mother's Day, try spending the weekend with them.

3. TIME SE GHAR AA JAO

The rite of passage to becoming a true desi mom is reminding your kids, while they are walking out the door to come home 'on time'. And this reminder is given out, regardless of wherever their child is going.

And if you don't come home 'on time', this is exactly how every desi mom reacts:

4. KAMRA SAAF KARO

Whether it's your relatives or your friends who are visiting your home, the first thing your desi mom will ask you to do is clean your room. And basically, this is exactly how every 'kamra saaf karo' conversation goes:

5. EAT HEALTHY

And by healthy, your mom doesn't mean eating fancy salads or greek yogurt but that extra paratha she has made for you and letting her know all the fancy food you want to eat, so that she can make it for you at home.

6. DON'T BUY EXPENSIVE THINGS

Desi moms love free things and hate it when you spend money on expensive things, whether or not it is their favourite item. Check out this reel to see exactly how a desi mum's mood changes when she comes to know that her gift was free:

8. STOP USING YOUR PHONE ALL THE TIME

'Why are you always on the phone' and 'Ghus jao uss phone mein' are two signature dialogues every desi mum likes to say, whenever they see you using your phone.

If you would like to remember exactly how they can taunt you for using your phone, check out this reel:

9. BAGHBAN FOR LIFE

This Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer movie has been the cause of misery for many desi kids. While you may be better and more 'sanskaari' than the Baghban kids, your mom will always think that this movie is about her and that's how you're going to act like in the future.

lastly and the most important reminder,

10. TIME SE SHAADI KARLO

Every desi mom's biggest wish from their adult child is to see them get married and have kids. Even for Mother's Day. If you can't find any last-minute Mother's Day gift for her, try telling her that you're ready to get married and see how her face lights up.
