The deadly coronavirus is in its third phase in India. The numbers have started to decline slowly and steadily. While the country reported more than 3 lakh cases per day during January-end, now a significant drop is giving people some hope. India has reported 1,72,433 fresh Covid cases over the past 24 hours. However, this number is 7% higher than yesterday.

Here are 5 latest updates on Covid-19:

The death rate still remains a concern, as 1,008 fatalities were reported in the country on February 2.

A total of 2,59,107 people have recovered from the virus and 15,69,449 Covid tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

4. COVID REACHES THE INDIAN CRICKET TEAM

5. GERMANY, NEW ZEALAND TO EASE CURBS

Germany reported 2,08,498 fresh Covid cases on Wednesday. However, the government has declared that there will be relaxation in Covid restrictions by March.

There is a slight relief in Covid restrictions in New Zealand as the country is all set to reopen its borders for visitors. The country will first allow vaccinated New Zealand citizens and visa holders coming from Australia, followed by vaccinated visitors from the rest of the world.
