DailyOh! From ‘conspiracy’ in Sushant Singh Rajput case, to gang Narayan Rane ran

Having raised a local virus outbreak to global levels, the next thing China wants to raise is the issue of Kashmir at the United Nations Security Council. It was actually Pakistan which tried to raise the issue and China lent support. Both have been told by India to mind their own business because Kashmir is India’s internal business. When was the last time you heard China being mentioned in connection with any positive news? Don’t waste time thinking because you can’t find what never existed.

You may also not find any document admitting Chinese intrusions on the Ministry of Defence website just two days after the documents first appeared. We have heard of rats eating up files in Indian offices, but what can possibly eat up a file on a website (virus, like everything else this year?)? And if the files have disappeared, will Chinese soldiers also disappear from Indian territory?

On August 4, the Ministry of Defence acknowledged in a document showing on the news section of its website that China intruded into Indian territory in eastern Ladakh in early May. But now the document is not there. What did it say? "Chinese aggression has been increasing along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and more particularly in Galwan valley since May 5, 2020. The Chinese side has transgressed in the areas of Kungrang Nala, Gogra and north bank of Pangong Tso Lake on May 17-18.”

This prompted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to question why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi lying because Modi had said that no, no Chinese forces intruded into Indian territory. Gandhi has put up the question in both Hindi and English just to avoid any meaning getting lost in translation.

Amitabh Bachchan has however tweeted his apology to Prasoon Joshi in Hindi. What has Big B apologised for? T 3617. In T 3617, which is Big B’s tweet 3,617, he posted Joshi’s poem as one of Babuji, Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

This sorry came just hours after he said sorry for posting T 3617 as T 3817.

Joshi on his part has matched the ‘sorry’ with a ‘thank you’.

Sorry and thank you put that issue to rest before it could have spiraled into yet another #CreditDeDoYaar controversy. There, as you know, is no dearth of controversies. The latest one raging since June 14 is the one over Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. There are more conspiracy theories in the case than the monsoons Sushant would have seen in his life.

One party that has for now withdrawn from the controversy is Bihar Police with officers returning to Bihar. No they didn’t leave because they are satisfied Mumbai Police would do a good job now, but because they were reportedly scared BMC would quarantine them like it has quarantined IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who was in Mumbai to supervise the investigation in Sushant’s death, as conspiracy theories ran amok.

We will leave the conspiracy hunters to go do what is not their job, because we will go after the word conspiracy. Yes, conspiracy is the Word Of The Day.

Conspiracy draws from the word conspire. Conspire in turn comes from Latin word conspirare. Conspirare meant ‘agree, plot’. Conspiring happens when people agree to carry out a plot that is illegal in secret. This doesn’t mean you need support of others to conspire. You can hatch conspiracies alone too. Just like people are sitting and hatching conspiracy theories.

Was there a conspiracy behind Sushant’s death? Many want to believe yes because how could a young, talented actor have died JLT? The thing is people do die JLT. BJP leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane, who was a Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha (MSP) leader before being a BJP leader, and was a Congress leader before being an MSP leader, and a Shiv Sena leader before being a Congress leader, has said there was not only a conspiracy behind Sushant’s death but also behind his ex-manager Disha Salian's death.

Everybody likes a good conspiracy theory. Rane has offered one. But Rane’s life had once even offered the title of a movie.

Narayan Tatu Rane was once accused of a murder. Before Bal Thackeray elevated him as the state CM, Rane liked to be called ‘Narya’. He ran a gang with a man named Hariparab. The gang was called Harya-Narya gang and operated in Mumbai’s northeastern suburb of Chembur.

Director Govind Kulkarni made a Marathi film Harya-Narya Zindabad (1972) but apart from the title, the movie had nothing to do with the life of Narya and Harya. Art can have subtle ways of saying what it wants to say.

Rane put subtlety aside when he named Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi in the case of Disha’s death. Pancholi has denied any connection with the case. What has he said about knowing Disha and Sushant? Read this to know.

From one politician and his allegations, let’s now move to another politician and his appointment. BJP leader Manoj Sinha has been appointed Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. This comes after GC Murmu resigned from the post.

Murmu is gone but rains in Mumbai haven’t stopped. Mumbai’s Colaba has set a record with the highest rainfall in a single day in 46 years. It isn’t just Colaba which has been battered by rain, neighbouring Thane and Palgarh too have been inundated.

So Maharashtra may be rain-hit but Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan has heaved a sigh of relief because the Rajasthan High Court has dismissed the petition in the case regarding the merger of six BSP MLAs with the Congress. So, in case a trust vote comes up, Gehlot is sure of the support of these six BSP MLAs even if he can’t rely on his own flock.

That plot would unfold on August 14 when the Rajasthan assembly meets but the life of TV actor Samir Sharma came to a tragic end when his body was found hanging in his Mumbai residence earlier today.

Samir had posted a post after Sushant’s death. Was it a cry for help? It seems now like it was.

We will leave you with this for today.

Be back tomorrow.

Stay safe.
