Planets to align together: This and other astronomical events in June

Just like the world, the sky is a mysterious place too. We have witnessed some major astronomical events over the years. These events happen due to changes in positioning of the planets, stars, meteorites and other elements in the galaxy.

The continuous movements and gravitational forces also lead to these major events. 2022 is also witnessing several astronomical events and one of the biggest is about to happen this month.

5 planets to align together

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will align together this month. The last time it happened was back in December 2004. The next allignment will happen not before 2040.

The best date to see the alignment is on June 24. You can see this via telescope for a better and detailed view, or you can see it through naked eyes.

Strawberry Moon

On July 14, you can witness the Strawberry Supermoon. A full moon that falls during the month of July is referred as Strawberry Supermoon because during this time of the year strawberries are ready to be gathered.

Moon to come close

On the same day as the strawberry moon, the moon is going to come to the closest point in its orbit around the earth. It will look bigger and brighter during this time.
