Ram Rahim rape verdict aftermath: Punjab, Haryana governments have failed the people

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been found guilty in a 15-year-old rape case by a CBI court. The quantum of the sentence in the case will be announced on August 28. The accused has been taken into police custody and is expected to be taken to a prison facility where he will start serving the quantum of his sentence, which will be at least seven years. At least 28 people have been killed and more than 250 injured in violence that has followed the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
