Dear Modiji, here are five easy ways to save India

Dear Shri Narendra Modiji,

Since you are reportedly "really sad" over #DadriLynching and #GhulamAliConcert, but at a loss to understand your role as the PM in all this, here are a few unsolicited tips:

i. Get your Culture Minister and Noida MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma and UP MLA Sangeet Singh Som to resign for calling the Dadri Lynching an "accident", justifying the crime by talking about revenge against "cow killers" and insulting the writers who have been returning their Sahitya Akademi and other official Awards in protest against your government's silence at the rabid intolerance and barbarity on display.

ii. Personally meet the family of Mohammad Akhlaq in Bisara village, seek their forgiveness on behalf of the entire country and stand by them - and restrain your Party President and man friday Amit Shah from playing dirty politics on the issue - Rather speak to the UP Chief Minister personally and say that you and he should unitedly stand by the Dadri victim's family and ensure punishment for all those who are guilty irrespective of religious and political affiliations.

iii. Get the Sahitya Akademi chairperson - who seems to be your fan - and a newly appointed culture minister to unequivocally condemn and protest against the cold-blooded murders of eminent writers and rationalists MM Kalburgi, NA Dabholkar and G Pansare - Also get the home minister to speak to the chief ministers of Karnataka and Maharashtra to ensure strictest punishment to their religious extremist killers.

iv. Break the alliance with the lawless Shiv Sena and ensure punishment for those who are violating the law of the land in Maharashtra, through the chief minister from your own party.

v. Stop your jumlas like #DigitalIndia #JAM etc and focus on checking the explosion of religious extremism and intolerance across the country - Call a meeting of the National Integration Council and involve all Political Parties and State Governments in sending out a common message that India was, is and will remain a secular, tolerant and pluralist democracy where people from all faiths and beliefs will enjoy equal rights and live without fear and that all violators of this principle have to pay for their transgressions.

You can consult with Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who, if you remember, had advised you on Rajdharma on an earlier occasion (2002). If you are not doing any of this, then you are shedding crocodile tears and exposing yourself further.

Regards,

Prasenjit Bose
