How Rahul Kanwal broke down Karnataka election results on his Twitter timeline

After spending many hours with the key players across all three parties, here’s my take.

8.42pm: Each party accusing the other of being immoral. Conveniently ignoring the immorality of their own actions. Power at all cost is all that matters.

6.33pm: BJP supporters accusing us of being pro-Congress. Congress supporters fuming that we are pro-BJP. At least make up your minds. Both charges can’t be true at the same time. Reflects your political bias much more than ours. Fact is, neither party is smelling of roses.

6.06pm: Disappointing day. Morality and propriety clearly have no place in Indian politics. Power at all cost is all that matters. Saam. Daam. Dand. Bhed. By hook or by crook. Neither side can claim moral high ground.

2.22pm: Sonia Gandhi reaches out to Deve Gowda through Ghulam Nabi Azad. Congress offers CMship to JDS. This would be pathetic. BJP won fair and square. Sneaking in from the back door would be a negation of the mandate.

12.12pm: Congress ran a witty campaign on social media. Makes no difference to the outcome unless you can run a solid campaign on the ground. When it comes to last mile connectivity Amit Shah led BJP leagues ahead of Rahul Gandhi led Congress.

10.54am: Basically, Amit Shah is King Kong. And nobody knows how to organise an election in quite the same way as the BJP President. Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander. Many congratulations to the BJP. This is one heck of a performance. The path to victory in 2019 just became a lot easier.

10.32am: Hope nobody in the opposition is going to say that the EVMs were fixed by the BJP. The voters of Karnataka have given their verdict. Everyone must respect the verdict of the voters.

10.22am: There were those who were questioning whether Narendra Modi was a factor beyond the Vindhyas. The trends from Karnataka so far more than provide the answer. The opposition has simply no answer to Force PM of India.
