[Tragic] Woman accuses ex-husband of posting her images on adult site

In what appears to be a case of revenge porn, a case has been filed with the Gurgaon Police against a man living in New Zealand for allegedly posting images of his ex-wife on an adult website.

The 27-year-old woman alleged that the couple were estranged three months after their marriage in 2014.

The woman said when they got divorced, she asked her husband to return her "private pictures" saved on his phone and laptop. He refused to return the pictures, she alleged. She accused her ex-husband of uploading the pictures and threatening to withdraw her alimony.

According to reports, Hawa Singh, assistant commissioner of police said: “When the victim confronted her husband, he allegedly said, ‘This is just a trailer, wait and watch what I do in the movie’. We are investigating the matter."

A case has been now lodged on the basis of woman’s complaint against her ex-husband under Section 354(D)(stalking using any mode of internet, e-mail or electronic communication) of the Indian Penal Code and section 66(C) of IT Act (punishment for identity theft) at Gurgaon Sector 18 police station.
