Janata Dal United's Sharad Yadav, in the midst of a debate on the government's Insurance Bill, suddenly went on a tangent and waxed eloquence on women and skin colour. Yadav said, “The women of the south are dark but they are… their bodies…,” and talked about their “dancing skills”.
When DMK MP Kanimozhi objected, he shushed her, according to reports. "Your god is dark like Ravi Shankar Prasad (present in the House), but your matrimonial ads insist on white-skinned brides," he said. This not only saw Parliamentarians raise a hue and cry, but the outrage trickled on to, where else, the social media.
Bad enough for Sharad Yadav to make his idiotic sexist remarks, worse that with the exception of Kanimozhi no other MP protested.

KC Tyagi is apologising saying what Sharad Yadav said is not a "SEXIEST" comment. Sir, correct. It is a "SEXIST" comment.

When I was a young reporter ( with short hair ) starting out Sharad Yadav dismissed women like me as 'par kati' elites. His sexism thrives

Not surprised to see this coming from Sharad Yadav. Remember what he said about 'ladkiyon ka peecha karna'? http://t.co/R1e0pkdGD1
