IPL 2022 Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match: 6 players to watch out for today

In today's IPL match, Kane Williamson's Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be up against Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans (GT). Here are six players to watch out in today's game.

In today’s IPL match, Gujarat Titans (GT) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Gujarat, after winning a nail-biting encounter against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the last match, have the momentum with them. On ther other hand, Kane Williamson’s Hyderabad, after struggling in the first two matches, found a much-needed victory against Chennai Super Kings in their third match.

For Williamson, this match will be crucial as the team is at the eight position on the points table. A few more defeats will again put Hyderabad out of the playoffs race. The biggest worry for Hyderabad is its batting, which has not been consistent. Apart from Rahul Tripathi, there is no consistent batsman whom the team can rely on while chasing a big target.

For Gujarat, since the team has won the first three matches, it will eye its fourth win on a trot. Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shami have been performing well for the team.

Here are six players to watch out for in today’s match:

RAHUL TRIPATHI, SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad's Rahul Tripathi has been in good form till now. He was roped in at Rs 8.5 crore by the franchise. In the past two matches, he has scored 39 (15) and 44 (30) runs respectively. He can be deadly for the spinners. Batting down the line-up, Tripathi can help Nicholas Pooran and Kane Williamson chase down big targets.

SHUBMAN GILL, GT

The biggest worry for Hyderabad will be Shubman Gill. Gill has been in spectacular form this season. In the last match, he was just four runs short of his T-20 century. Playing in the last two matches, Gill has scored 96 (54) and 84 (46) balls. Today, he will be up against Washington Sundar, Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

NICHOLAS POORAN, SRH

Though Nicholas Pooran has not been able to perform to his potential so far, he can be an explosive batsman once he gets in rhythm. Only in the second match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) did Pooran score 34 (24) balls. The West Indian batter can be a big surprise for the Hyderabad bowlers today.

Kane Williamson doesn’t play an attacking game but builds his innings on singles and doubles. But since he bats up the order, he is an important player when it comes to building the team’s score. In the last match, which Hyderabad won against Chennai, Williamson scored 32 (40) and won the match for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

HARDIK PANDYA, GT

Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya will be up against Kane Williamson today. Though Pandya lacks the experience as a captain that Willliamson has, Pandya has won all the three matches for his team as a captain. As a batter, Pandya has scored 27 (18), 31 (27) and 33 (28).

MOHAMMAD SHAMI, GT
