OnePlus 6: What the early reviews have to say

OnePlus' latest flagship, the OnePlus 6, is out and it's creating a lot of buzz in the tech industry. From fans to industry experts, everyone seems to be excited about this phone, which promises to be the Chinese smartphone maker's best phone to date.

Coming barely months after the launch of its predecessor, the OnePlus 6 is a device that is more than just a flagship killer, which the phones are usually branded as.

Though full-fledged reviews are still to come in, here's what the initial reactions about the phone have tp say:

iPhone X looks, serious power at half the price

That's what Tom's Guide has to say about the OnePlus 6. Seemingly impressed by the value that the phone offers, Adam Ismail explains why the phone is more than just about the notch.

"Can you get a phone that rivals the iPhone X in terms of design and features for about half the price? Come May 22, you will. The new $529 OnePlus 6 tests the limits on the kind of value you can squeeze into a device that costs hundreds less than competitors with similar hardware... We're generally impressed with its design, power, new gestures and camera improvements."

Perfect for enthusiasts and the average buyer

In its initial impressions of the OnePlus 6, Cam Bunton of Pocket Lint calls this the perfect device for the tech fans as well as the regular consumer.

"A lot of the promises made by OnePlus for this launch sound really good. What we think is a big win here though is that OnePlus has managed to build a phone that looks on trend, fashionable and attractive but without any real compromises in performance or specification. It should keep the tech fans happy while also attracting the regular, average consumers it so wants to buy its phones. On the whole it looks great, has an impressive spec sheet, and — while no longer budget — still undercuts its nearest rivals with big-name logos."

Rival flagship killer

T3in its initial review, focuses on the power that the phone packs. Backing what OnePlus has been reiterating for some while now, the reviewer explains why the phone will blow the competition away.

"The power this thing has locked away is absolutely atomic, with benchmark scores that absolutely smoke rival flagships. Be under no illusion, the OnePlus 6 is fast, very fast, and my initial impression of the device is that it looks like it is going to be one of the most impressive and classy phones of 2018."

Shiny like a jewel

In his quick review of the OnePlus 6, India Today's Javed Anwer explains why the new device is crafted for the masses.

"In my opinion, the OnePlus 6 continues the trend that was started with the OnePlus 5: Of making the OnePlus phones more acceptable to masses. Hardcore OnePlus fans who lamented the loss of edgy and industrial design that OnePlus 3 and the 3T had may scoff at the OnePlus 6, believing that it looks similar to many other phones that come with glass and metal design, but I think regular consumers will love it."
