The death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is cause for grief not just among politicians — who saw the stalwart as their mentor — but also among the business community that has thrived over the years thanks to policies and groundwork laid down by the man.
From overseeing the modernisation of telecom, to privatisation, to freeing up the air, making air travel easier and cheaper, to laying the foundation for India’s start-up culture, Vajpayee’s commitment to bettering India’s economy can never be forgotten or ignored.
