How the captaincy fight could shape the future of Bigg Boss 11
As Bigg Boss 11 nears its finale, choosing the captain is becoming a high-decibel fight. The housemates hardly agree with each other. After two hours of noisy brain-storming, where no one was willing to forgo their stake on captaincy on Friday (December 15), the Bigg Boss declared its masterstroke. There will be no captain for the coming week inside the Bigg Boss house, which exposes everyone to an equal possibility of being nominated for eviction.
Team game versus individual game
Bigg Boss asked Arshi, the captain so far, to discuss with the winning team members of the BB Lab task and nominate two contestants for captaincy. This made Vikas, Shilpa, Luv, Arshi and Puneesh – who was hosting the task – contenders for captaincy. Arshi said she would not agree to make Shilpa one of the contenders, while Shilpa said she would also not agree if the rest of the members chose Arshi’s name. Vikas, being a “friend” of both, could not choose any side but supported both in absence of the other.
Celebrity versus commoner
The commoners inside the house are aware of the fanbase of celebrities, which include Shilpa Shinde, Hiten Tejwani, Hina Khan and Vikas Gupta. This is the reason why Arshi doesn’t want Shilpa to become the captain. If she becomes the captain, she will definitely nominate Arshi for eviction, and it will be difficult for her to garner audience votes if there is another celebrity contestant nominated. She said she could only give up her stake to captaincy if either Hiten or Vikas become the captain.
And, this is the same reason Shilpa wants to become the captain. “Arshi has been nominated only once. She should also know what is happening outside,” Shilpa was seen saying to Puneesh over the captaincy row.
Luv supports Shilpa for captaincy
Luv Tyagi has so far been seen as the weakest among the housemates. His allegiance to team Hina, too, was not supposed to pay him off well, as Hina herself considered Luv as a weak candidate. But this time for captaincy, Luv acted strong. He said he deserved to be the captain as he played well in the task. And he was also ready for Shilpa’s captaincy as Shilpa never became a captain. But, no one was ready to make Luv captain as he is nominated for this week’s eviction. If he gets evicted, the captaincy power would be wasted.
Hiten to be evicted?
Twitter is abuzz with news of Hiten Tejwani’s eviction this week. If this turns to be true, the celebrity lobby inside the house will be hit hard as Hiten’s eviction will prove that Luv and Priyank have got more votes than Hiten Tejwani, which will change the dynamics of the power-struggle inside the house.
