7 most over-the-top American celebrity homes

If there's anything people from all walks of life enjoy, it's seeing weird and interesting things in celeb homes. From Johnny Depp buying an entire village in the south of France to Kim Kardashian's four fridges, celebs always manage to wow us with their houses. Here are 7 of them that will truly wonder you:

1. MILA KUNIS AND ASHTON KUTCHER

The famed couple recently invited fans into their sustainable farmhouse located in the hills of Los Angeles. Loads of natural light, big windows, cosy yet chic sofas, wooden beams worth dying for and dark kitchen counters are the main components of their barn converted home. Mila and Ashton spoke to Architectural Digest about the five years of renovations they did on the house, notably the addition of the extremely opulent 19-foot long crystal chandelier in their 'entertainment' barn.

While talking about the chandelier, Mila said, "We thought it would be funny to have this incredibly opulent thing hanging in a barn. It kind of takes the piss out of the property."

2. CARA DELEVINGNE

Cara's 'fun house' in LA features a ball pit, music room, a mini casino, Gucci wallpaper, a translucent piano, a David Bowie-shrine bathroom and an incredible swimming pool and a games room. If that wasn't enough already, the pansexual, gender-fluid model's house also features a 'vagina tunnel'.

Talking about the tunnel,Cara told AD, "I come in here to think, I come in here to create, I come in here to feel inspired in the vagina tunnel." Here's her house tour

3. LEONARDO DICAPRIO

Leonardo’s two-bedroom apartment in Manhattan (one of three properties he owns) truly is an apartment of luxury. On entering the property, you will find posture-supportive heat reflexology flooring, vitamin C-infused showers, a juicing station, a 78-bottle wine fridge, a circulated aromatherapy air supply, dawn simulation lighting along with ultraviolet lighting which sterilises harmful airborne microbes.

The apartment has been developed by Delos and is 3,663 square feet in size. The monthly maintenance for this apartment is about US$ 9,000, and went up for sale this year. (READ MORE HERE: Leonardo DiCaprio's $11 million apartment is the healthiest pad in NYC)

4. KENDALL JENNER

Unlike for the rest of her family, AD described Kendall's house as bohemian and funky. In her sprawling LA home, Kendall has a peaceful and earthy vibe to her house. What truly stands out is her James Turell piece, known as 'Scorpio' (the piece costs over a million dollars) and her gold bathtub. The house also has a pool, two living rooms, gold faucets in the kitchen and a glam room. She also has an art room in her house where the curtains are made of canvas.

5. JOJO SIWA

People reported that teen star Jojo Siwa has an entire bed of candy. Jojo said in her house tour, "My bed is candy. You can see this is all real candy. Over here we got a gear that can control the candy." Her house, as she explains, is inspired by ROald Dahl's famous Chocolate Factory owner Willy Wonka, and her room holds about 4,000 pounds of candy. Her dresser is printed with a 'gum ball motif, decorative trees are made out of gumdrops and lollipops and the vanity is covered in a sprinkles pattern — with loose sprinkles at the bottom of each drawer', reports People. 6. OPRAH WINFREY

Business Insider reported in 2016 that Oprah had bought a US$ 14 million, 8,700-square-foot ski chalet in Telluride, Colorado, US, that had some very extravagant features. The chalet has a US$ 70,000 limestone bathtub and a private spa. The most extravagant feature of the house is a wine cave, which is about 56 feet long and holds 1,600 bottles of wine. It cost Oprah US$ 240,000 to install the cave and there is an old mining cart down there that runs on rails.

Her primary residence in Montecito, California has its own teahouse and six bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, two theatres, a wine cellar, and a barn. She bought the house for US$ 52 million in 2001. 7. TOMMY HILFIGER

Tommy Hilfiger's penthouse in New York's famous Plaza Hotel boasts an Eloise-inspired room. The Plaza has been the setting for the children's series "Eloise at the Plaza", so naturally, there was a room in Hilfiger's room that was entirely dedicated to the character. The room is known as Eloise Dome because it sits in a dome-shaped room. The room even has drawings by the series's original illustrator on the room's walls. The penthouse was sold for US$ 31.25 million in 2019.

If you had the money, which of these extravagant features would you want to add into your home?
