“Some people have been offended by a few words I used during a seminar,” Jawed Habib said in an apology video posted to his Instagram and YouTube account. “I just want to say one thing that our seminars are professional ones, meaning there are only professional audiences who work in the hairdressing industry. These seminars are hours long and we have to make it humourous at times. I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, that if anyone was hurt by me, please forgive me. I am sorry, dil se (from my heart).”

WHAT THE WOMAN SAID: The woman in the video has been identified as Pooja Gupta, who also owns a beauty parlour. In a reaction video, she says she felt humiliated by Jawed Habib’s actions. She also went on to say that she did rather get a haircut from a roadsisde barber than ever go to the renowned hairdresser.

Later, speaking to a few TV News channels, Pooja Gupta said that throughout the seminar, Jawed Habib was acting arrogant and refusing to take questions. She claimed that he called her to the stage with the intent to humiliate her as she was the only one asking questions. She also claimed that Jawed Habib spat on her head, not once, but twice.

The Uttar Pradesh police also informed that a case has been registered in the matter.

INTERNET NOT CONVINCED: Netizens have refused to buy into Jawed Habib's apology.

Jawed Habib had posted about the Muzaffarnagar seminar on January 4, 2022 on his Instagram account. The event was organised by Wondersoft Professional, that sells professional hair care products. He owns the Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty Ltd, which is estimated to be an empire worth $30 million. He has a chain of more than 800 salons and training centres in over 100 cities in India.
