Spider-Man No Way Home made 21-year-old Hyderabad boy Kasyap a sensation. Who is he?
There's a new singer on the block and he's just been featured in Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home TV advertisement. Kasyap is a Hyderabad-based, 21-year-old singer-songwriter who is also an instrumentalist and a record producer.
Starting his journey at the age of 6 with a Casio piano, gifted by his parents, Kasyap found his calling for music very early on. Though he gave serious consideration to becoming a Chartered Accountant, recognition from music labels in the US secured his path to becoming a full-time musican and songwriter.

HOW DID SPIDER-MAN HAPPEN?
Kasyap's Spider-Man journey began when he started working with SIIX Trailer Music and Sound, an award-winning music production house in LA in 2019. There, he made the song Start The Machine but interestingly, this song was not meant for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Kasyap's Start The Machine was actually intended for another Disney movie!
Sadly, the production house did not use Start The Machine in the film and slated it for later, but much to Kasyap's joy, he received an email on December 16, 2021. Kasyap told DailyO, "I received an email from them at 2 am on December 16, just a day before the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home (the movie released on December 17) that my song is being used in the movie's TV advertisment."

Just like all of us, Kasyap's parents also did not believe this news initially. After texting his parents at 2 am, Kasyap had to explain it to them the next morning; and after multiple news stories, elation followed. Describing them as his biggest support system, Kasyap said he has a deep appreciation for how supportive and understanding his parents have been towards his deep-seated inclination towards pursuing the arts.

WHAT IS HE DOING NOW?
Kasyap has found his calling in pop music and released his first ever pop single, Khoya Sa on November 28. When asked about his inspiration for this song, Kasyap simply said that he met someone in June 2021 and the lyrics for this song came flowing to him. He also described himself as a Marvel 'fanboy' and really wants his music to be featured in a Christopher Nolan movie.
