Mallika Dua on the odds and evens of how Delhi travels

From a coughing Arvind Kejriwal imitation, to a Delhi girl openly fantasising about Shah Rukh Khan while boarding the Metro, it's hilarity writ large. The one-woman fun army, Mallika Dua, is back, this time with a super comic take on the capital's travelling woes.

Titled "How Dilliwalas Travel", it is an advertisement for the newly launched app Instago, and it gets Delhi's pulse as is expected of a hotly released Mallika Dua skit. It is spot on - depicting how a chartered accountant obsesses with charts and figures as wheels grind to a halt on Odd-Even days, or how a pudgy software engineer bemoans his late arrival for an expensive movie date and worries if his girlfriend would ever pick his call ever again.

The 1:59 minute long skit both sympathises with and laughs along Delhi's plight, its travelling sisterhood and brotherhood of sweaty pants, its heaving busom and choked lungs as the air too hangs above menacingly.

Kudos to Dilliwalas and Mallika Dua to highlight how we take it in our stride, obeying the laws and its legislative vagaries with a smile and a bit of fumbling - with the apps, the taxis, the auto meter, the missed buses, the crowded Metro trains, and everything else that makes Delhi what it is.
