McDonald's tweeted Trump is disgusting - and everyone's lovin' it

McDonald’s is bland, unimaginative and not really your health’s best friend. Alas, the world however chooses to not acknowledge any of this and continues to eat at McDonald’s like it’s the King’s Feast. But even those getting served fried lizards at the international fast food joint may just find it a little easier to digest McDonald’s swill, in light of the company’s alleged stance on the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.

A tweet from the company’s official Twitter account directed towards Trump read, “You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have Barack Obama back. Also you have tiny hands”.

It is worth noting just how bad and disgusting one has to be, to get called out by McDonald’s. It’s almost like KRK calling you a bad actor, or Salman Khan calling you a bad driver. Unfortunately for the world, McDonald’s deleted the tweet and chose to distance itself from this incident.

Terri Hickey, a spokesperson for McDonald’s, said: “Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this.”

"Based on our investigation, we have determined that our Twitter account was hacked by an external source. We took swift action to secure it, and we apologise this tweet was sent through our corporate McDonald's account,” she added.

But hacked or not, it was a pretty epic tweet, and people on Twitter completely lost it.

Despite their claims that they were hacked, and had nothing to do with this hilarious tweet, a lot of people have pointed out that the circumstances seem a little too coincidental. Robert Lane Gibbs, who is the executive vice-president and global chief communications officer of McDonald's, has served as White House press secretary during the first term of the Obama administration.

Suspicious much? Definitely.

But even if conspiracy theories don’t hold up, this is not the first time Trump would be at the receiving end of retaliation from a corporate giant. Trump’s Muslim ban had received the largest backlash from corporate America, where companies as big as Apple, Facebook, Adobe and many more called out the president’s lunatic move.

And while all of those companies justly criticised the president and called him out, none of them made a remark as epic as “also you have tiny hands”.
