Big U-turn of gas: When Modi said 'There is no climate change'

"In the summit, we will deliberate on crucial issues relating to environment & climate change," Narendra Modi tweeted just before his departure to Paris to attend World Climate Change Conference. Though India is planning to be a major player in cutting down emissions and make COP21 a centre of major climate change discussions, it is curious to note how a year has changed PM's stance.

While addressing children on Teachers' Day celebration September 5, 2014, a young girl from the audience asked him," We in Assam feel very concerned about climate change and its consequences. Sir, how can you help and guide us to protect our environment?" To which PM Modi gave a very obscure answer. "Often during winters, you'll notice that older people complain it's colder this year than before. In reality, it's not colder, it's just their capacity to tolerate cold has reduced due to aging. Similarly, it's not the climate which has changed, we are the ones who have changed."
