#PanamaPapers: Iceland's PM, dodges tax haven question, walks out of interview

Iceland Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson walked out of an interview with Swedish television company SVT after he was asked questions over tax havens, and his association with Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca.

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ)-led probe into massive leak of 11.5 million tax documents has exposed the humungous nexus secret offshore dealings that link politicians, industialists, celebrities, sports stars, and even Bollywood actors.

In Iceland connection, the files point to Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson and his wife secretly owning an offshore firm holding millions of dollars in Icelandic bank bonds during the country's financial crisis. The company called Wintris, according to Gunnlaugsson, "has been fully declared to the Icelandic tax authority".

Gunnlaugsson says he is not prepared to answer such questions and decides to discontinue the interview, saying: "What are you trying to make up here? This is totally inappropriate." Watch the following video clip put out by The Guardian on a visibly irate Gunnlaugsson dodging the questions.
