Don't serve women: Hauz Khas Village pub, really?

Their Facebook page may be brimming with aesthetically organised and colour-coordinated "casualness", a sort of work-in-progress of breezy informality, with images of fabulously decorated interiors almost engaged in an internal competition of in-house coolness. A bicycle hangs from the roof, potted plants and pleasing paint wood furniture, walls of solid pastel shades, faux brick-and-cement flooring, and nicely presented food - all seem to add to the general hipsterness of this typical Hauz Khas Village pub.

It's called, casually enough, Imperfecto.

Some of you HKV regulars must be swearing by it already. Bollywood Sufi nights, indie bands, booze and bumming around - what else do you need (that money can buy) while chilling after a hard day's work, or during those precious weekends?

Until you stumble upon this billboard. Noted film critic and writer-director Raja Sen posted this picture a short while back on Twitter, with a heavy sigh.

"We don't serve women. You must bring your own..."

Hmm.

So, this is Imperfecto's idea of a cracking a smart one, eh? This is just male banter, right? The dude-bro bonding over beer-guzzling honesty.  Relax women, we love you. We are just being a little bratty and letting our (Brylcreemed) hair down. C'mon don't be such killjoys, ladies. We all saw you cracking up. You laughed, so don't smirk now. Political correctness is so passé. What can a tiny joke do to your mighty mountain of WTF is it called, oh yes, f%$#ing feminism? Ugh!

After Nando's "grab it both hands" gaffe, this is easily the most bizarre and openly sexist comment passed off as smart thinking.

Now serving, tiny little joke dripping with bias after pathetic bias, with a garnish of WTF is it called, aah, male bonding, Imperfecto style.

Lame.
