Candid camera: Kill a horse, mourn Prince and shoot zombies

We must once again open at the close and this time at the end of one of the greatest artistic acts in history.

1. Prince is immortal, and a notable exception

Prince died yesterday at the age of 57 and gave birth to one of the biggest regrets of my life. From everything anyone has ever said or written, Prince was the greatest live act of all time.

His legend rested in effortlessness, his ability to connect with people and make them move, all with the confidence of a God.

Prince's prolificness in the recording studio was unmatched and he never seemed to slow down. Artists peak and artists fall. Prince was all peak - everytime, everywhere.

Here's a shout out to one of the most inventive musicians of all times, may he rest in peace.

2. Shaktiman is no more

The all-knowing human being still hasn't found a way to quantify death (except when concerned with class, caste, gender and religion).

Today, we honour Shaktiman, the Uttarakhand police horse who died yesterday.

Shaktiman was allegedly beaten up by a BJP lawmaker last month and had been struggling ever since. His death will not make as many people cry or care as Prince or someone famous or 'Important' would, but in the grand scheme of things, a life was lost.

There are political battles to be fought, people to be blamed, laws to be changed and more windows to be added to prime time shows.

But right now, here's a shout out to Shaktiman, may he rest in peace.

3. Courage is a weird thing

What is courage?

Is it standing at the border waiting to fight a war? Is it asking your parents for permission to stay at a girl's place? Is it tweeting something logical against the BJP knowing fully well the joblessness of bhakts?

I say no.

Courage is screaming at an angry bear in Alaska.

4. Our sisters are scared of zombies

The internet is a goldmine of homemade greatness, and sometimes everything comes together to deliver magic.

The video of a girl being pranked into thinking that the world is under a zombie attack is pure gold.
