Should you be excited about WhatsApp's font style?

WhatsApp is a cross-platform messaging app which saves us a lot of money.

Facebook-owned messaging giant - and the reason we don't go out and interact with people anymore - WhatsApp is adding new fonts for its billion-odd users.

The new font showed up on the app's latest beta version on Android and iOS, but no one knows when it will be available for use.

So how can we try it? The new font, which actually looks like a Windows font, can be tried on WhatsApp's beta version 2.16.178 on Android - this is only for those who have signed up for Google Play's beta program. According to reports, the font works on iOS' beta version as well.

To use the new font on the current beta version, all you need to do is put three grave accents (`) before and after a word or a sentence for it appear in the new font.

For example, ```DailyO``` will now show in the new font.

But here comes the glitch - the new font won't be a major functional upgrade unless it's made the default for the popular messaging service. This might change though as the new font cannot be used with the recent bold and italics formatting options, which also require symbols to be used.

We are as confused as you are.
