Rambagh Palace has quite the humble origins. It consisted of only a small garden house built in 1835 for the Queen's favourite handmaiden.

In 1887, it was converted into a hunting lodge for Maharaja Thakur Sawai Madho Singh, as it was surrounded by a forest back in the day.
