The valley of Kashmir is seeing moderate to heavy snowfall in various regions.

PRECIPITATION IN SOME AREAS

It is the final day of the Chilla-i-Kalan, the harshest winter period in Kashmir. There was also rainfall in some areas.

Some regions like Srinagar received 7 inches of fresh snowfall. While other places like Gulmarg received more than a foot, and Pahalgam got 9 inches.

 A SIGHT FOR THE EYES

With various areas in Jammu and Kashmir under a blanket of snow, tourists are overjoyed.

NATIONAL HIGHWAY CLOSED

The snowfall brought normal life to a halt. Road travel was difficult with highways blocked. The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was closed.

AIR TRAVEL IMPACTED

The recent snowfall has also impacted flight operations at the Srinagar airport, with all morning flights delayed due to poor visibility.

Train services on the Baramulla-Banihal route were also suspended due to snow on the tracks. Exams at the Kashmir University were also postponed.

TRAIN SERVICES HIT

SNOW FOR THE GANDHIS

Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra, delayed by the snow, also came to an end today in Srinagar. Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi had a good ol' snow fight.
