When in doubt over tolerance, follow Modiji

Shocking how intolerance has spread. First the writers, artistes and filmmakers were intolerant. It was intolerant to protest against the unsolved killings of three famous rationalists Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare and MM Kalburgi. After all, why protest if three people are killed out of a population of 1.25 crores? Moreover, they even had the temerity to return their awards. Modiji and his strictly tolerant band will not give such people awards ever again. Only people like Amit Shah, a fair-minded person, who hates Pakistanis as much as he hates Nitish Kumar, is non-sectarian willing to hate anyone. Or Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti who loves Ramzadas but is tolerant in naming Haramzadas. Sadhvi Prachi, like most in the Sangh happy family, is generous enough to send all intolerant critics to Pakistan.

But these actors are becoming bad characters. Unlike the great, tolerant actor Anupam Kher who is campaigning hard for a secular, open-minded India, some Johnies-come-lately like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, are disrespectful of the recent extreme tolerance. Kher is absolutely right that the tolerance of the majority is truly tolerant. It is, of course, grossly wrong to count numbers. Anyway, does any political outfit have as many offshoots as the Sangh Parivar? And they are all most tolerant, like their allies the Vishva Hindu Parishad. How dare these small time actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan complain of intolerance when many Hindus watch their films without an audible grumble?

So what if the CM of Haryana says that Muslims who eat beef should go to Pakistan? If they were smart they would go to Goa, where the beef is Hindutva certified by the pious BJP government. In any case, there is better beef in Pakistan, which is really intolerant of everyone but Kashmiris. Why does the honourable president keep talking about the Constitution, secularism, tolerance and a vibrant democracy, not just once but three times? These warnings are unnecessary. See how far Modiji is travelling to learn how to make India a hundred times more tolerant than the US and Europe! All that has always been the staple ideological diet of the Sangh. It is truly secular. The writers, film stars, sundry grumblers are all pseudo-secular. After all who could be more secular than "Veer" Savarkar in whose honour the NDA government has released a postage stamp. Carping criticism about Savarkar asking for clemency from the British and being brought unnecessarily into the Gandhi murder trial, are just looking at minor points. He did advocate beef eating as a source of protein for the poor, but with Modiji's economic policies, there are no poor now.

Tolerance is actually very, very simple. As the saying goes, "Love thy government, more than thyself". Don't be over-tolerant because that leads to intolerance. Watch out for the grumblers who criticise for the sake of criticism. When in doubt follow Modiji, Amitji, Prachiji and other uncompromisingly secular, tolerant and far-sighted leaders. Then there will be no unnecessary debates, full support to Modiji and his team, complete respect for Hindutva and secularism, and no quibbles about a few dead or disappointed writers, filmmakers, and other such confused people. Jai Hind!
