We now live in a world where Hugh Jackman thinks SRK can be Wolverine

There have been some clear signs of the world coming to an end. The election of Donald Trump as the president of the United States of America, the rise of the intolerant right-wing, alternative facts, the continued existence of Adam Sandler, even as the world is losing gems like Alan Rickman.

But the real sign of an "Apocalypse" (apologies for the pun), that is somehow one that seems innocuous at the first glance, but is actually the worst one so far, is the fact the Hugh Jackman saying that maybe Shah Rukh Khan can play the next Wolverine.

Let that idea sink in for a moment. Yes. The role has been played to the point of perfection by Hugh Jackman for 17 years now, may somehow have its torch passed to Shah Rukh Khan. Of course, it’s not going to happen. But the mere idea of something like that even being insinuated is blasphemy in the least.

In a recent interview with film critic Rajeev Masand, Hugh Jackman said that he'd not mind anyone else playing the role of Wolverine, and in fact he'd love to see others do it. Things were going all hunky dory and then Jackman uttered the phrase that changes every thing. He said, "Maybe Shah Rukh Khan could play it".

Imagine for a moment, a stoic and strong Wolverine being replaced by a Wolverine who looks at Jean Grey and says the words, "J-J-J-J-Jean". Imagine a Wolverine who poses with his arms stretched out, with his claws out, posing in front of a scenic backdrop on Switzerland. Imagine a world where Professor Charles Xavier would just have to read his mind when Wolverine thinks "palat". 

Did you just shudder? 

Let's hope this is something that never happens, because then, we have nothing left. Absolutely nothing. Let us hope that the collapse of civilisation takes place before we hear the dreaded words in a dreaded trailer: "Wolverine ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, naamumkin hai".
