How India made Hashim Amla resign

It all started in November, 2015, with the first Test in Mohali. Hashim Amla's wretched form refused to go away. Scores of 43, 0, 7, 1, 39, 3, 25; worse, a crushing 0-3 series defeat to India; would've been 0-4 if not for the Bangalore washout.

Amla's bad run in 2015 continued with twin failures against England in the first Test: 7 and 12. A new year brought with it new form but Amla had decided to put in his papers weeks before the actual date. He just couldn't beard it any longer.

Ravindra Jadeja made his Test debut under MS Dhoni's captaincy in 2012. He played his 12th and last Test before his comeback in Mohali in August 2014, also under Dhoni. What followed was Dhoni's retirement from Test cricket, CSK's ouster from the IPL and the sidelining of Srinivasan in the BCCI.
