5 working out mistakes to avoid

Have you hit a plateau with your body where it has stopped responding? You feel that you have reached a point where you are not making any more progress with your fitness. The gains, which you made few weeks ago, have come to a complete halt, which has now started to bother you.

The reason why your body is refusing to grow is because it has got too comfortable with the fitness routine. And the only way our body responds to growth is by adequately shocking it every now and then. Which means you now have to make some changes to your routine.

But changes can only be made if we know the problem first. So what mistakes you may be making with your training. Here it goes.

Mistake #1: Overtraining

Too much of something is not good. This cliché unfortunately applies to our fitness routine too, which is commonly referred to as overtraining. Overtraining is a very common phenomenon and there are times we do tend to overtrain ourselves. So what should you do in such a situation! It is simple, just cut down on your training sessions, and remember quality over quantity.

Mistake #2:Overeating protein

Agreed protein is the building block of muscles but too much of protein consumption may not necessarily lead to muscle gain. On the contrary it will lead to fat gain. Remember one gram of protein is equal to four calories same as carbohydrates. So if your calorie requirement is 2,500/day, oversupplying food in the form of calorie will eventually lead to fat storage, isn't it. Common sense, which is somehow not too common these days. So minimise your calorie intake.

Mistake #3: Blindly following training programmes

Just because your friend has lost seven kilos following a keto diet or a training program, doesn't mean it will have the same effect on you. We all are different, born with different body types and genetics. Whatever works on one individual may not necessarily work on everyone. So don't follow anyone's training or diet programme blindly. Do your due diligence.

Mistake #4: Lack of motivation

Going to the gym wont help if you only go there once a week. You have to stay consistent with your routine. No matter what, you have to find motivation from within. Nobody in the world can get you motivated; it is only you who can do that. So stop looking for excuses and get regular with your workouts.

Mistake #5: Not accepting your body type

I say this to everyone that do not go against your genetics! If your genetically bound to gain weight easily, then don't try to be too lean because it will be temporary. Accept your body's limitations and work around it.
