5 things you didn't know about whey proteins

If you are new to the world of fitness and have started going to the gym recently, you would come across this term called whey proteins. Even people who have been regular with their fitness routine and are consuming whey protein supplement, don't exactly know what whey proteins are.

In this article I would talk about the five things you didn't know about whey proteins:

1. It's a milk product

Yes you heard it right! Whey protein is natural and is a milk by-product. Some not so educated people often blame food supplements especially whey proteins as a steroidal compound, but it's not true. Whey protein is natural and can be consumed safely.

2. Both men and women can safely take it

Whey protein is absolutely natural and safe which can be taken by both male and female. There is this myth that only men can take whey proteins, even women can reap the benefits of whey proteins which will help them recover from their workouts and make them stronger.

3. Women can't bulk up on whey proteins

Women often think taking whey proteins will add bulk on their frame! This is again a myth, which is so not true. Scientifically women can never get bulkier unless they inject testosterone (steroid) externally either through injectable or orally. Women don't produce male hormone, testosterone that is responsible for bulk and muscle growth.

4. The best time to take it is after your workout

The best time to take whey proteins is after your workout or training session. Whey proteins will help you with your recovery so that you hit your next training session with ease without being fatigued.

5. There are no known side effects till date

There have not been any known side effects of taking whey proteins, other than upset stomach initially. The upset stomach is also due to body's inability to accept this new salt, which subsides after a day or two.
