How to age gracefully: 4 fitness lessons from John Abraham

We can't stop from ageing, but how we do is entirely in our hands.

Ageing is one hard truth, which we must accept in order to live a healthy life. There is no denying to the fact that we all will or rather are ageing with every passing day. We absolutely have no control over this natural phenomenon. But the way you would want to age is entirely in our hands.

John Abraham is certainly an example, which we all can look up to on how to age gracefully. He just turned 43 few weeks back and he is in his best shape. Though if you see the John of early 2000s and compare it with the John of 2015 you would only see wrinkles on his face but his body has only gotten better and younger. There is something for all us to learn from him.

Three fitness lessons we can learn from him -

1. Accept ageing: The only thing you can do about ageing is to accept it. If you are one those people who don't like ageing then your best option is to delay it by exercising regularly! This is exactly what John does, pushing his body in the gym everyday without fail. Remember, face creams and anti-ageing lotions don't work if you have an unfit body.

2. We can't look the same: Look at any actor both from Hollywood or Bollywood, you would notice that all look very different when they entered the film industry vis a vis how they look now. Some of them look much better now, and John is no exception.

3. Odds will always be against you: We would always have a reason for our unfit body: an injury or at times a psychological reason. We will not always be motivated to work out. There will be times when you would put on weight. It happened with John as well in 2012-13 where he put on extra weight due to his back injury. Also back then he didn't have many movies. So all odds were against him to quit. But he didn't yield and fought back with a much-needed hit Madras Café.

4. Eating clean: If one thing we should all admire John is for his relentless discipline for his healthy diet. He is very disciplined and eats everything by the clock and only what his body allows. Healthy eating is eight per cent of the fitness battle and John has certainly won that battle with his body, which we all can see in his movies now.

It's his fitness attitude, which not only makes him look super fit but also shows on his latest choices of movies.
