Priya Dutt on what Salman Khan's family is going through

Having gone through the same turmoil several times, I understand how exactly Salman’s family must be feeling over the past few years. It feels like a sword hanging over your neck at all times. Salman is a very kind-hearted person and genuine in whatever he does. Once he believes in something, he’ll do it with conviction and is never fearful of standing up for anything or anyone he believes in.

A positive quality in him that I have noticed is that he is very compassionate and feels the pain of others. And he works a lot for the underprivileged but does it silently. His social work is never in the face.

There have been many such instances where he has worked silently. When I was a member of Parliament, I had sought his help in doing up a small children’s ward in Bhabha Hospital and he instantly agreed and gave full support to it. I have forwarded many such cases of medical help that used to come to me. Whenever we needed extra funds, I have forwarded those to Salman and he always helped wholeheartedly.
