Gunmen targeted Sabeena Mahmud on Friday after she hosted "Unsilencing Balochistan", a seminar on the politics of the separatist insurgency in the Pakistan province. A foremost rights activist, Mahmud was the director of The Second Floor, T2f, a cafe and arts space that gave a platform to activists in Karachi.
“I felt so hopeless about this country, and then when I started meeting people here we got strength from each other" Sabeen Mahmud.
