How Ishant Sharma went from being a joke to king on Twitter

Speedster Ishant Sharma reached a major milestone in his career when he claimed his 200th Test wicket, against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, as he led India to a 117-run victory in the third and final match of the series. With this, India also wrapped up the series in its favour. This was India's first Test series triumph in Sri Lanka after 22 long years.

Ishant, who had taken a five-for in Sri Lanka's first innings, returned figures of 3-32 in the second innings, and took the crucial wicket of the Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews, who sought to keep the Indians at bay with a fighting century. This is how Twitterati celebrated Ishant's feat:

Before this milestone, however, Ishant's on-field spat with Sri Lanka's Dhammika Prasad got tongues wagging. As with everything under the sun, Twitterati had some opinions to make on this too. And since there was controversy involved, it was only but natural that Twitterati had a field day and some of the reactions were pretty hilarious. Even dairy product company, Amul, known for its witty advertisements on the issues of the day, came out with one on the Ishant-Dhammika spat.
