Reliance Jio's new offers are a consumer's wet dream

Reliance Jio’s Summer Surprise may not have had the long life the company was hoping for, but consumers need not worry. On Tuesday, April 25, Reliance Jio revealed new plans for its pre-paid and post-paid subscribers.

With three new post-paid plans, and 10 pre-paid plans for Jio Prime members, the telecom giant is all set to win over its customer base and more. The prepaid plans start at Rs 19, and stretch all the way to Rs 9,999.

While the recharges — from Rs 19 to Rs 149 — are for all, the offers post that cannot be availed by those who went for the Summer Surprise offer, something that was called back after its launch, on TRAI's order. Additionally, recharge offers upwards of Rs 309 are available only for Prime members. Customers who want to avail those offers would have to get the Rs 99 Prime recharge first.

The post-paid offers are almost in line with the pre-paid ones. For Rs 309, subscribers get 90 GB (1 GB per day) for 90 days. Subsequent recharges will give the customer 30GB for one month. For Rs 509, customers get 180 GB (2 GB per day) for 90 days, post which customers will get 60 GB of 4G data per month. For Rs 999, you will get 180 GB of 4G data for three months. Post the first recharge customers will get 60 GB for one month only.

Jio's new plans, as before have caused a ripple in the telecom pool. Vodafone is now offering 9 GB of data per month for a total period of three months (27 GB in total) to customers who have a 4G handset. Other than that, customers who subscribe to Vodafone’s RED Unlimited plans can also avail 3GB of extra data for 12 months.
